Industry of incense in Vietnam
Incense has a special significance in spiritual life in many Asian countries, including Vietnam. Burning incense is part of Vietnamese culture and beliefs. Bamboo incense sticks are dyed with all different colors and then spread out to dry every morning .In Vietnamred is the most common color they use, but you can also see many other bright colors like green, yellow, purple, maroon, or turquoise.
Sometimes they arrange the incense in fun patterns that look like the star on the Vietnamese flag, or the geographical shape of Vietnam. The incense stick is made of two parts: the core stick and the incense powder. The core is made from bamboo-like trees grown in a nearby forest. The bark is harvested, bunched, weighed and then sold. At the start of every year, incense sticks are used to celebrate Tết, or Vietnamese Lunar New Year.
